UW Credit Union's Board of Directors appointed Mike Sauk, chief information officer of UW Hospital and Clinics, to serve on the credit union's Audit Committee. The Audit Committee is responsible for taking a proactive role in monitoring and advising company management and outside auditors in conducting audits and safeguarding the overall financial reporting and internal controls process for the credit union. The committee is an integral part of the governance structure for UW Credit Union, one of Wisconsin's largest financial institutions.

UW Credit Union is announcing a giving opportunity for members. Members will be able to donate directly from their Web Branch accounts to the American Red Cross International Relief Fund in order to assist communities impacted by the January 12, 2010, earthquake in Haiti. DMI and others discussed ways to improve downtown entertainment, community policing, safety, managing sidewalks, late-night transportation and quality of life. This spurred the organization of a Downtown Hospitality Council with committees on the nighttime business mix, transportation, best practices and changing the drinking culture. The preliminary results of a survey of Downtown visitors show interest in a movie theater, and many other late night entertainment options, along with more transportation choices.
