Citing a need to improve broadband in the Madison area, 5NINES, an Internet Service Provider and technology company, is now partnering with local businesses, non-profits, and community centers to offer free high-speed wireless Internet access to their guests and customers. Using 4G cellular technology coupled with souped-up WIFI access points, 5NINES now delivers nomadic and mobile connectivity around the downtown area, supported by network backbones that the company has been deploying and scaling since 2006. Requirements to access 5NINES Wi-Fi are minimal. Businesses can simply pick up a pre-configured router from the 5NINES downtown office, place the router near a window, and turn it on. It will immediately start broadcasting a WIFI network signal, which users can then join with their WIFI-enable devices. A one-time fee of $150 for the router will be charged to businesses. A $75 fee applies to non-profits. There is no monthly access fee, usage fees, or anything that typical wireless carriers charge. The 4G broadband service will directly benefit users of personal devices, such as a smart phone and wireless routers, especially nomadic ones. For further information, contact 5NINES at 608.512.1027 or visit 5nines.com
