More than 80 Madison businesses big and small have participated in Sustain Dane’s Mpower Business Champions Program, implementing more than 325 sustainability projects saving over $1.6 million annually. Sustain Dane invites your business to apply for the 2015 MPower Champions Program, and turn your organization’s green intentions (and frustrations!) into action and success. Beginning Friday, Feb. 27, 2015, the Wiscsonsin Historical Museum inivtes you to travel through 130 years of Wisconsin cycling history in this newexhibition, "Shifting Gears: A Cyclical History of Badger Bicycling." Showcasing the crucial role that Wisconsin has played in two national bicycling eras, Shifting Gears features historic bicycles and objects, intriguing images, and interactive experiences. Discover how the long, colorful, and sometimes contentious story of the growth and development of cycling in Wisconsin in the late 1800s is once again playing out today. Shifting Gears is developed in partnership with the History Museum at the Castle in Appleton, Wisconsin. Learn more here.

Wegner CPAs is pleased to announce the addition of sixteen new, talented individuals to their firm. Each person brings unique expertise to the firm and will enhance the department teams they join. Wegner CPAs is delighted to have added a wealth of staff as they enter one of our busiest times of the year. Of the sixteen staff hired, eight are pursuing degrees at local and state universities and will intern with the firm until later this spring. They are happy to develop these new staff in the early stages of their careers and help them succeed into the future.

Susan G. Komen for the Cure® South Central Wisconsin Affiliate has named SVA's Kirsten Houghton as Treasurer of its board of directors. "I am honored to be asked to serve in a leadership role for this great organization, states Houghton. "Komen provides a valuable service towards the fight against breast cancer and I look forward to the opportunity to make a significant contribution towards that fight as well." Kirsten Houghton is Principal and head of SVA's Nonprofit Services Group. She works with a variety of nonprofit organizations including charitable, membership, trade associations and those organizations receiving federal and state funding.

High school and college students are invited to apply for Summit Credit Union's continuing education scholarships. The three $1,500 tuition scholarships will be awarded this April. Applications must be completed by Feb. 28, 2015. Students should click here to review the full eligibility requirements and complete the application. Winners will be honored at Summit's Member Fest on Sun., May 31, 2015, in Madison. Over the past 13 years, Summit has helped 39 area students pursue quality higher education. The Board of Director Scholarship program supports Summit's ongoing educational outreach efforts and its commitment to the communities it serves.

The Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce introduces IceBreaker, a new annual, spring lunch and networking event to be held on April 23rd from 11:30am-1:00pm on the floor of the Kohl Center, the first business event of its kind. IceBreaker is the spring companion event to the fall Annual Dinner. Like the Annual Dinner, IceBreaker promises an energizing program of influential speakers with Greater Madison’s business and community leaders in attendance. For more info click here.

The next Morning Sports Report presented by the Madison Area Sports Commission and ESPN Madison will take place on Tuesday, March 17 from 7:45-9:00am at HotelRED, 1501 Monroe Street. The third annual Sustainability Sideshow will be held Friday, March 6th from 7-11pm at the Madison Children's Museum. The Sustainability Sideshow, a joint fundraiser for Sustain Dane and the Madison Children's Museum, is a unique twist on the Madison Children's Museum's successful Adult Swim events. Join Porchlight for their Original Chef's Auction Dinner on Wednesday, February 25th, 2015 from 6-9 PM at the Wisconsin Institute for Discovery. Tickets are $50/person; $500/table.Madison’s most beloved chefs lend their talent to Porchlight and those experiencing homelessness in our community. Chefs incorporate artisanal items from Porchlight Products, a job-training and life skills program for formerly homeless men and women living with disabilities. During the live auction, guests will have the chance to bid on special packages donated by our participating chefs that include private dinners, parties and cooking classes. End Domestic Abuse Wisconsin's 2nd annual Purple Carpet Event is taking place on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 from 5-8 pm at The Brink Lounge, 701 East Washington Ave., Madison WI. Skate with the Madison Capitols at The Edgewater on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 from 5pm-7pm. SVA professionals, Chris Fearn and Rebecca Muehl, have been appointed to the Dane Buy Local board of directors effective 1/1/15 for three year terms. Fearn has also been elected Treasurer of the board of directors for a two year term. Fearn and Muehl have been committed to Dane Buy Local and its mission for many years and they are dedicated to lending their time, expertise, and leadership to furthering the organization and helping the community.
