The YWCA Madison's job training programs work with people who want to find, change, or maintain their careers so they can support their families and be part of our community's economic mainstream. Join the Boys & Girls Club of Dane County on their annual Bike for Boys & Girls Club on July 18th, 2015. You can ride solo or as a group for as far as you want! The 36th annual Isthmus Paddle & Portage returns Friday/Saturday, July 17-18, 2015 at Olin Park. This year, Paddle & Portage has merged with the Midwest Standup Paddle Festival to bring an entire weekend of crazy-fun paddling to Madison. Saturday’s race begins at James Madison Park with a 1.5-mile paddle on Lake Mendota, followed by a 1-mile portage around the Capitol past the Dane County Farmers' Market, before heading to Monona Terrace and the final 1.5-mile paddle across Lake Monona and the finish line at Olin Park. Racers and spectators are invited to the post-race party at Olin Park for live music from Natty Nation, food, craft brews and the 2015 Paddle & Portage awards ceremony. Paddlers are encouraged to get all decked out for our annual Paddle & Portage costume contest. "Like" their Facebook page for prize updates and announcements as the race draws nearer. We will learn and renew appreciation for workplace equity and inclusivity issues. The topics for the series will be chosen based on feedback received from 80+ community members at our launch event in December 2014. Wegner CPAs is pleased to announce the addition of seven, talented individuals to their assurance department: staff accountants, Jessica Cannady and Kristen Williams; and interns, Alex Carrera Valadez, Nick Fahrney, Jordan Miller, Ben Moy, and Lisa Lang. Each person brings unique expertise to the firm and will enhance our audit practice in the nonprofit sector. Of the seven hired, five continue to pursue degrees at local universities and will intern with the firm until early fall. They are happy to be developing these new staff in the early stages of their careers and help them succeed into the future.

Joining Axley'™s Litigation Practice Group, Mr. Whitehead focuses his practice on commercial litigation, employment litigation and insurance defense. A cum laude graduate from Marquette University, Mr. Whitehead served as an associate editor of the Marquette Law Review and was the recipient of several awards including multiple CALI Excellence for the Future Awards. Mr. Whitehead served as an intern under the Honorable Judge Diane Sykes of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, as well as Justice Annette Ziegler and Justice Michael Gableman of the Wisconsin Supreme Court.
