Fresh Madison Market owner Jeff Maurer has enlisted the help of Fitchburg-based Tri-North Builders for his new grocery store. Fresh City Market is opening in West Lafayette, Indiana on Purdue’s campus in August of 2014 and Tri-North will be completing the $3,000,000 build-out of the interior of the grocery store. Maurer opened Fresh Madison Market on the University of Wisconsin campus in 2010. His goal was to provide more options to college students who have transportation needs as well as a fresh alternative to residents in the greater downtown Madison area. He also began a free delivery service to all of Dane County which has grown quickly and helps get fresh, local products to all area residents. His goal has been to expand his urban grocery store ideas to college campuses across the country. Fresh City Market in West Lafayette is his first expansion.

Wisconsin in Watercolor: The Farmscapes of Paul Seifert, is on view at the Wisconsin Historical Museum from April 8 through August 30, 2014, and explores Paul Seifert's vision of the state's Southwest Driftless Area where he lived and painted in the late 1800s and early 1900s.
